Blah blah

I think this blog will end up going back to more of a family blog with a ton of photos, rather than a photo blog with some family info. Things have been so crazy lately. Photography is having to take a backseat, not happy about that! The thought of us moving SO soon and leaving the Army behind is hitting me. What the hell are we going to do?? I am going to really miss the comfort of the Army. Knowing we always had a steady paycheck coming in and healthcare was huge for me. Now that we are leaving that I am kind of in panic mode right now. I still have almost 3 years before I am done with school. I am going to have to work once we move but it makes me nervous thinking about finding a place after not working in almost 6 years with no degree. I am a huge worrier. I am trying to relax and just kind of wait and see how things will be, but that's just not me.

I guess it is harder for me now that my husband finally admitted he really does not want this but there is really nothing he can do. He was thinking about getting out in 2013 anyways but that was just talk, just like he was talking about going to be a warrant officer. If he would have gotten out then it would have been on his own terms. It's different when it isn't a choice that you made. The Army isn't just a job, it is your whole family's life pretty much. It will be nice to not have to move around, or at least chose where and when we move.

Someone asked me how it is that I packed up my kids and got on a plane with them alone to move to Germany. For me that was easy! Not sure why or how, but it was. It was exciting starting a new life. Now that we are starting over again it isn't so exciting. It is full of worry about the unknown. At least when I left for Germany we had a place to live secured and a job lol. Oh and the fact that I was moving to Europe which I never even thought I would go there to visit. That sure helped take away the fear. This week I will be putting in some applications online. I will need all the good vibes I can get! Right now there is an opening for a great opportunity for me at the Children's hospital but my CPR has lapsed. I registered for a class to get re-certified the second week of July at my school so hopefully this job will take that into consideration. This job will help me out with what I am going to school for.

On another note...just one more week of school for the kids! Their last day is next Monday but they get out at 11:30. I hope between all the of stress of the moving we can get out and do some more things around here before it is time to pack up and go for good.

A little catching up

By now I pretty much forgot what week it is so I will just post some random shots from the last week or so. I really need to pick my camera up more but honestly, when out and about with the kids it has been kind of nice to just enjoy it instead of trying to capture it all. We had a few gorgeous days here. Hopefully that will continue! I was talking to my sister while I was out in the nice sun and 70 degree weather and she said the heat index there was 101! I don't know what I am going to do when we move. I hate the nasty humidity and the heat.

Speaking of the move, we STILL do not have a date, or even a small time frame. What we do know is that it is a done deal now. Last Friday my husband signed the paperwork. He is officially getting out of the Army. We have known this for a few months but seeing the massive packet that he brought home just made it real. It is going to be a huge adjustment. It is going to be tough I am sure, especially with me in school. Things will change financially and just all around. We are assuming we will be packing the house up and moving the last week of the month or the first week or so into July. I will be starting my pre cleaning and organizing this week. In other words, I will be getting rid of as much crap as I can lol. We need to go through toys, clothes, paperwork, books etc. Moving is always a great time to purge unneeded things. It always makes me feel better to box up stuff and remove it from my house.

As much as I am not ready to move to Omaha the timing couldn't be more right. I found out recently my grandma has lung cancer. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I lost both grandfathers and my dad. I am not ready for either of my grandmas to go too. She will be having surgery tomorrow afternoon to remove a portion of her lung. Luckily it is not a full half of the lung as they originally thought. She goes to the doctor often so it was caught early on. I really wish I could be there tomorrow and the following days. At least I will be there soon enough. My kids need to really get to know their family, especially Aubrey.

Enough rambling...here are some photos of my kids from the past few weeks. Nothing spectacular, just some mom shots that could really use some consistency with color. I did a lot of editing the other night when the sun was shining right into the window my computer is up against. Not good. I have still failed miserably at getting a photo of all of my girls together. As soon as Aubrey sees the camera she takes off for the most part. Tell her to go sit, stand, or whatever by her sisters with my camera out and it is even worse. I think I really need to get some professional photos done soon.
